Booking and stay policies in the UAE
Review the booking, cancellation, payment and privacy information for stays and properties in the UAE.
Each published property may set its own cancellation, refund, payment and check-in conditions. The actual listing and confirmed booking terms take precedence over this general guide.
Bookings and availability
Availability shown on a property page is subject to the platform booking process and confirmation. Review unit capacity, dates, property details and the applicable rules before submitting a booking.
Check the relevant emirate and listing terms. Do not assume Dubai, Abu Dhabi and other destinations share identical property conditions.
Cancellation and refunds
Cancellation or amendment options depend on the conditions disclosed for the specific property and booking. StayIn does not state a universal free cancellation period or guaranteed refund deadline here.
Review the cancellation and refund conditions shown before confirmation, and keep a copy of the booking record.
Payments, prices and fees
Do not transfer money outside the payment instructions presented through the official booking flow. Only rely on the total, currency, payment method and charges that are actually disclosed to you.
Prices are shown in AED. Taxes, tourism-related charges, fees or deposits may vary by property and destination; check what is explicitly displayed.
Check-in and guest rules
Follow the property’s stated check-in and check-out times, occupancy limits, identification requirements where lawfully requested, and rules for damage, noise and use of the premises.
Privacy and personal information
Booking and support may require contact and reservation information. Review StayIn’s privacy notice for details about handling of personal information and the applicable rights or requests.
Support and disagreements
For a disagreement, preserve the reservation details and relevant communication, then contact StayIn support through the official website channels. Applicable local legal rights are not waived by this guide.
Additional rights and responsibilities
A clear framework for guests and accommodation providers, supplemented by the applicable consumer and privacy rules of this country.
Parties and booking relationship
StayIn provides digital tools for presenting properties, submitting requests and managing reservations. The accommodation provider identified in a listing is responsible for the accommodation and its published property rules. The precise contracting party, applicable charges and payment recipient must be disclosed at confirmation; the platform must not be assumed to operate or own a listed property.
The confirmed booking record and mandatory consumer protections take precedence over general explanatory material. Service descriptions do not represent a promise that every property, feature or payment method is available in every country.
Listing accuracy and service standards
Hosts are responsible for accurate address and location data, current photographs, amenities, licence information where legally required, accessibility details, guest capacity, permitted uses, and disclosed restrictions. Guests should report missing or materially misleading services through the official support channel.
Availability and displayed prices must be rechecked at the final confirmation stage. An inquiry or submitted request is not automatically a guaranteed reservation unless the booking status and confirmation explicitly show that it is.
Cancellation plans and booking changes
Properties may offer different cancellation and refund plans, including flexible or restricted rates. The applicable plan, exact cutoff time in the property local timezone, any non-refundable components, modification limits and no-show charges must be disclosed for the selected accommodation before confirmation.
An extension, shorter stay or change of travel dates is subject to approval and a revised price where applicable. StayIn does not apply an undeclared universal cancellation penalty, guaranteed free-cancellation window, or automatic refund timetable.
No-shows, late arrivals and early departures
Guests should tell the accommodation provider if they expect to arrive late. Whether the property holds the room, treats absence as a no-show or charges for early departure depends on the exact published terms of the reservation and mandatory local law.
No-show or early-departure deductions must be traceable to a disclosed rate condition, not imposed unexpectedly after booking.
Security deposits, damages and incidentals
Where a security deposit or pre-authorisation is required, the amount, currency, payment method, trigger for retention and release process should be shown before confirmation. A deposit is not an additional nightly rate.
Any claim for damage or missing items should identify the incident and provide a reasonable evidence trail. Ordinary wear and tear should be distinguished from actual damage. Guests should be able to dispute the claim through documented support channels.
Safety, access and accommodation rules
Properties should disclose check-in and check-out windows, occupancy limits, accessibility features, smoking or pet restrictions, visitor rules, building access and lawful identification requirements before arrival. Safety equipment and emergency contacts should be provided as required by the location and property type.
Do not publish photographs of other guests or identity documents, and do not collect personal identification outside a legitimate legal or operational requirement.
Property unavailability and major disruption
Where confirmed accommodation cannot be delivered or materially differs from its description, the provider and platform should promptly document the incident, identify available lawful remedies and communicate the next steps. An alternative accommodation or refund is not automatically guaranteed by this guide; mandatory local rights and confirmed terms continue to apply.
Government restrictions, severe weather, transport disruption and other exceptional events must be considered case by case under the confirmed terms and applicable law, not as an automatic removal of all consumer rights.
Data handling, security and privacy requests
Reservation services may process names, contact details, booking history, payment confirmations, messages, security logs and identification when legitimately necessary. Only data reasonably needed for a stated purpose should be requested.
Requests for access, correction, deletion, consent withdrawal or complaints are handled to the extent provided by applicable law. Cross-border transfers, cookies, service providers, retention periods and the identity of the data controller require a complete operational privacy notice.
Do not enter payment card information or personal identification into unofficial chat links. Refer to the platform privacy notice for detailed processing information.
Customer care and dispute handling
Keep the booking reference, written confirmation, receipts and relevant messages. Report urgent safety concerns to local emergency services first. For service or billing complaints, contact StayIn support and the accommodation provider through the channels listed on the website.
A guest or host may contact the competent consumer or tourism regulator or use other legally available dispute procedures. Nothing in this guide excludes non-waivable rights or requires a guest to surrender the right to file a statutory complaint.
Applicable rules and policy updates
The mandatory rules of the country where the accommodation is located apply when relevant; additional regional or municipal requirements may apply. No arbitration clause, liability limitation, court venue or licence claim is implied by this general guide.
A subsequent website update must not silently change a previously confirmed reservation. Keep the policy version and the terms shown at booking for audit and customer support.
UAE consumer and tourism requirements
UAE consumer protection rules require accurate service information, the advertised price, a dated invoice and appropriate complaint handling. Depending on the provider and transaction, e-commerce disclosures also include licensing information and contract/payment conditions.
Licensing, visitor documentation, accommodation fees and tourism regulations may differ by emirate; each UAE property must disclose the relevant local requirements instead of applying a single Dubai rule to the whole country.
UAE data protection framework
The UAE federal Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law 45 of 2021) provides a framework for handling personal data and data-subject rights. Particular free zones may have separate rules, where applicable.
StayIn’s final operational privacy notice must specify the controller, lawful processing, recipients, retention and transfer details, and how guests can exercise their rights.
UAE payments, invoices and local fees
AED prices, any tourism or municipality charges, tax and security deposits must be clearly identified wherever relevant to the specific emirate and property. No charge is presumed included or payable unless the booking details say so.
No contractual limitation in a platform guide may waive non-excludable UAE consumer protections.
Regulatory and consumer-rights references
